ERRORS OF MODELS..link and Q.- BEST MODELS?

GFS was soundly bashed on the palm beach post BB for flipflopping a lot. Yet, the link below shows the GFS had the SMALLEST error, or was among the three smallest for error, of all the nine or so models. For various timelines of progging. (gee, I sound like a real met LOL). Can anyone explain? Is GFS really garbage, or really solid gold? And which models do you say are the best this time and usually, based on some objective measure that even the French Enlightenment of 1750 would agree to? ( as in Rene Decartes ).
