Hey Dixie.. awful lot of convection there.. if it becomes a little more compact or better organized.. NHC better consider sending a plane out.. We may have TD 15 or perhaps Juan trying to form..

It doesn't look anything more to me than a bunch of t-storms that just came of the coast of Mexico, which is typical of the GOM. Nothing looks organized, nothing to get excited about yet.

You may be right Rainband.. by the check out "Post number 700"... It gives you or anyone else, my own personal opinion on the system.. I still think the NHC should consider sending a plane out...

Wouldn't go as far as sending a plane but something to watch carefully

It's deepened a little bit lately. If it persists for another 12-24, we might have something worth watching. Until then, development, if any, will be fairly slow to occur :P

This buoy is just on the northern edge of this convective burst and has seen some suspicious wind shifts. Also looks like the shear has let up a bit.

Tropical systems develop between mid-September and late November and the following winters have been cold and snowy.

As of 1030PM Saturday, it's still not TWO-worthy (and rightfully so.)

Not certain exactly why people are so excited about that crapvection; seems largely caused by divergent shear from the Marty anticyclone.

You're half-way right. Looks like Juan will form soon but not there. More likely out of that blob east of the Antilles.

(Derecho), I never said development was evident in the Gulf of Mexico. It is something to watch like all other areas of convection that may or may not develop in time.

Harry, I know what you mean.

#19 Postby Stormcenter » Sun Sep 21, 2003 12:43 am

Is the guy who will post here occasionally named "Derecho" related to the "DT" guy? They both seem to have the same classy (sarcasim) way of responding to posts they don't agree with. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ummm... No, they aren't related but BOTH are very knowledgable and no nonsense, and Derecho's right ...

Believe me, Stormcenter. Derecho was very nice.
