Larry "Screenshots" - Sat Pics/Sfc Obs

I'll just post the shots to this thread today, deleting the old images as I add new ones. Here's a morning shot of Larry. The flashbulb on the satellite wasn't working, so I had to use the IR image. Note the cool, dry air still spilling out across the NW Gulf toward the BOC. Morning lows in the upper 50s along the lower Texas coast is not tropical air. Dew point is 66 in Tampico. See the low 60s dew points across the isthmus of Mexico? Larry is still involved with the cold front.

There was a ship report just east of Tampico a few hours ago with a NNW wind at 25 kts, indicating quite a transport of cooler, drier air is still in place across the west Gulf coast. No doubt, this isn't helping Larry's convection this morning:

Here's a new shot hot off the press. Note the 61 dew point in Tampico. That isn't moist tropical air streaming south into Larry.

Here's the latest. Note the 2 ship reports along the Mexican coast - one with 40kts and the other with 50kts. Also note that cold air advection is diminishing across the NW Gulf. I think that unless Larry ingests another gulp of cooler and/or drier air tonight, that it could be a hurricane in 24-36 hours.
