My take on low pressure near Bermuda

#1 Postby cycloneye » Sun Apr 20, 2003 7:46 pm

Well what I see of this system is that it has organized very well in the past 24 hours as it has been cutoff from the jet stream and that is why it is moving in an erratic form.Convection has increased near the low center mainly to the north and northwest but is is trying to wrap all around and if that happens then we will see subtropical depression or even tropical storm Ana.But the window for this system to develop is not so long because a trough will exit the US in the next few days and that will be the end of it but in the meantime it may develop some more than what it is now.

But will the NHC waste a name so early well before june 1 is the question :?: .

Well guys this has been a brief take of that system and it is my own opinion as my knowledge is very good about all related to the tropics is concerned but if anyone wants to post his or hers opinions go ahead.

Good analysis Luis...but I'll be surprised if it makes the transition to tropical.

And I don't think it would be a waste if it becomes subtropical. Remember, if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck!

It wouldn't be a waste. If it's clearly a subtropical storm, then let it be classified as such. Otherwise I agree mostly with your opinions on it.

Of course, we all know now that it's been named. Ana this morning looked very impressive. The more I looked at it, the more I thought that it had a chance. The only thing I felt was stopping it is that the low itself wasn't warm-core.

Precursor?
