Comparing Ana with Past Subtropical Storms

#1 Postby Anonymous » Mon Apr 21, 2003 2:01 pm

There has been some talk on that other forum (lol) that Ana shouldn't have been classified. The low is 100% subtropical. Convection has wrapped around the center of circulation, making the low more of a warm core system. There was an increase of shear during the overnight hours. Since then, convection is trying to wrap around the center on the eastern side. Ana is expeted to be short-lived. The low is embedded in a large upper level trough and there is a weakness in the ridge. Lets compare Ana to a few past subtropical storms...
