With the A storm in the books so early many would think that we will have a record breaking season in terms of activity with more than 21 systems breaking the record from 1933 but that will not be the case because the months of june and july are normally slow months for tropical formations.
But it will be an active season more than last years season so the only thing that I will say now is to be prepared for anything that might go to your area and stay safe.
I will elaborate more on the 2003 season when I release my outlook on may 1.
If anyone has thoughts about the season you can post them here.

It won't be the case because the timing of the first named storm does not have any correlation whatsoever with the total amount of named storms in the season. So basically even with Ana in April, 2003 could still be below average. Factors DO point towards an active season this year, but Ana's early arrival is not one of those factors.
