I want to tell ya'll Sunday morning when Matthew came through we were in our trailer Me and MR houma it was about 5am the wind pick up and I was so scared it scared the poop out of me. We had a call there was a tornado on the gound in Cut off we were not in the line of the tornado but when the thunderstorm associated with the tornado went by ( about 10 miles as the crow flys) All hell broke lose. As it was my yard was flooded so we had white caps in our yard. I think it was or would have been like the eye wall. I didn't even think the weather would get that bad because there was nothing around the low. So we stayed home Will think twice next time Velma

It was barely a tropical storm. WOW... I'd hate to see what a hurricane could do.

Unfortunately, it is that way for lower LA parishes. It only takes a tropical storm to cause severe flooding. Last year, it was TS Bill that flooded some areas and this year it was TS Matthew. You're right, a hurricane would be devestating.
