They sure should (I am not that far southwest of you, considering)... even Jacksonville updated their forecast at 1:23pm... maybe putting the rain chances to 50% for Thursday.

This blob is associated with the Subtropical Jet. I don't forsee development because of the conditions and the strong wind shear.

That Blob is the biggest blob of convection I have seen in a while from a non-tropical entity and that makes it interesting to me!!

that's basically all this blob is going to do...produce rain. Nothing looks favorable for this to develop.

I would say at least half of forecast areas across central Florida would see rain out of this system. So the National Weather Service should get the rain and thunderstorms chances up to at least 50%. :D

I think we all agree its not going to develop - but its something to watch. Supercane - its too early in the season to jump on each thread and jump on people about it developing or not. I am just having fun talking about it.

My two cents.

Actually, this blob isn't that unusual. The blob isn't tropical in nature, and the low is in the mid to upper levels. The strong subtropical jet (that will prevent any chance of development) is causing the convection to fire. I wouldn't begin watching the low for tropical development until it moves into the Atlantic. Even then, tropical storm formation is highly unlikely. Possible? Of course.

Nobody is jumping anyone. We're watching the low just like everyone else.

I don't see blobs in the GOM as usual. This is a pretty significant item. Pretty to look at too - anyone disagree on this?

Being on Florida's west-central coast I'm watching it for sure. The "little" storm that came through Friday dumped 6" of rain at my house. This looks like it could dump a ton wherever it decides to land. I agree that tropical formation is highly unlikely but it looks like a soggy couple of days coming here :-)
