Huricane Hunter On Display

#1 Postby Steve H. » Sat May 03, 2003 10:24 pm

Orlando Executive airport will have a P-3 Orion hurricane hunter aircraft on display on May 9th. The aircraft will be open to the public and personnel will be available to answer questions. I caught the tail end of the newsclip, so I don't have all the details, but I'm sure the airport or the Orlando chamber of commerce should have details. If you haven't seen one, its worth a look.....especially if you can get someone's attention for a half hour or so  Most of the operators are more than happy to talk to enthusiasts. I saw one at the Vero air show, and the 45th weather squadron had a static display at the patrick air show. Cool stuff

Hurricane Hunters are the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance mission based out of Kessler AFB in Biloxi, MS. They use C-130H for the flights in an out of the tropical systems.
