I think it is due west, but I can see how you would think it might be WSW. If this doesn't gain some latitude it may brush South America, too.

It's severely deviated from even the 5AM forecast track.

Track will get adjusted bigtime at 11AM.

Looks like chances it runs N of the Carib are getting pretty small. Ridging gets stronger and stronger on all the models, may even end up missing the US completely to the south.

From the loops of vis this morining, I find it very dificult for Emily to come up the northen islands. But then again everyone was saying Dennis was gonna go south of Jamaica and it ended up going where the NHC said it would. But in Emily's case it looks to be 1 full degree south of the forecasted position in the 5am track.
