A deep breath
Nothing is forming in the GOM. The surface low is so exposed at this moment that it would likely not develop even if conditions did become favorable. Very few systems that are this sheared actually develop. Trust me on this one, this is a heavy rain threat and nothing more.

I agree Derek. But it was a fun little system. I had a pretty good call on the system this morning over at CFHC. Looks like the heavy rain threat continues for AL/MS line and points east. Checking out the latest NHC visible loop, there ended up being some real interesting banding down in South Florida with some of the outflow and periphery. This was a dry run but hopefully served as a wakeup call for anyone not taking the tropics seriously.

I would of liked to monitor this area of convection, knowing that the chances of development were/are slim.
I appreciate that the "blob" was mentioned. That is what we are here for, to discuss areas of convection that may or will develop; as well as those that don't have much of a chance to develop into a tropical system.
