What about this....

Looks like a pretty strong trof pushing SE from the plains toward the GOM:

Isnt that what the hurricane center said was gonna push down and potentially erode the western edge of that ridge steering Emily?

Could the trough even get here in time to effect Emily, Remember she is not that far from landfall.

Im not sure. If it would, perhaps the models would show something like that but the majority of them seem to nosedive Emily into Mexico.

But, don't all the models take every bit of the potential WX influence - on a global basis - and plug it in to their projections? If so, I would think any influence - or potential influence - would have already been considered in the forecast(s).
