My TD-18/Rita Forecast

I think south of the keys and a sharper turn at the end, but landfall very near your location

It is more likely to move over Cuba than Florida, given its current movement.

The center will likely reform further north, and it will get a little stronger which should help it move a little more north. I don't predict any rapid deepening until its way in the GOM. Should hit some dry air and shear near Texas.

Hey Scorpion,

it would be great if you stopped making some of the rediculous posts here. However, I'd just be happy if you would STOP NAMING SYSTEMS BEFORE THEY ARE OFFICIALLY NAMED

and was there not a warning given to everyone NOT TO USE AN OFFICIAL FORECAST MAP?

I've heard several official weather outlets calling this one "Rita" already. NWS in Mobile Alabama is the first one that comes to mind, along with the Weather Channel, Fox and MSNBC. I just hope whatever it becomes goes somewhere besides Mississippi :eek:

While I agree that systems shouldn't be called by names that they aren't yet officially named and perhaps it's not a good idea to use official maps either...

Are you always this rude to people, Derek? Just about every non-forecast post I've seen of yours is rude to somebody. I hope you aren't like this in person.

And if you enjoy being so rude, learning to spell might help in getting your attitude across to people. It's "ridiculous."

You just did the same thing on your own website...of course, you said that you'd "change it back to TD 18" if NHC didn't upgrade it. Just something I noticed...It seems like "what's good for the goose" is not good for the gander, unless the gander also proclaims to be some kind of expert. :(

Let's not bash Derek here. What he did may have been out of line, but that is his opinion that he is entitled to. He does have a point in that there is a ban on use of official or official-looking maps for amateur forecasts on this forum.
