This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Try this site! It's new. It contains satellite images since 1983!

Holy cow! For the first time in my life, I can see an image of some of the 1990 storms. It seemed that that season was unknown forever, but there they are. Thanks a million!

I'm so happy I get to finally see images of Hurricane Diana and Hurricane Klaus from 1990.

Wow, Diana was HUGE.

In 1995, you also get to see satellite images of the extremely reclusive Hurricane Ismael.

Excellent site! I've saved it.

By the way, you can also see on the site just how HUGE Katrina was.

Hurricane Elena :D

Bingo!

I'll never forget the discussions.

She's headed to Mississippi.

The trough should lift her northeast.

She's headed to Florida.

The trough outran her.

She's headed back to Mississippi.

I should have read this sooner dh....that was my 30th birthday and Labor Day Weekend. We were going to Slidell and then canceled because Elena was coming this way and then they said, no its going to Florida so we went anyway. We got up Sunday morning and went to Walmart (there was not one in the Pascagoula area that long ago) and got diapers and milk, etc. for cheaper prices than here. When we got back to my husbands uncle's house Nash Roberts was on the TV saying Hurricane Elena is headed for PASCAGOULA, MS...did we freak or what! We tossed things in the car and headed east. I will say that we were the only car east bound on I-10 while the West bound lane was bumper to bumper and stopped. My husband is a Deputy Sheriff so he had to be here, if you are wondering why we came home, plus we had to board up the house since we had just taken them down before we left because it wasn't coming here anymore. That was one hell of a birthday and I will never forget it.

Katrina was a early 50th birthday present for me, 5 days early and I certainly will never forget this one as I have no home left, only a slab, but we will make it. South Mississippi will rise again!
