Theres some satelitte images that I can seem to find, if anyone has them I'd really appreciate if they can post them
Hurricane Belle at or near landfall (or closest approach to New Jersey preferably)
Hurricane Gloria off the Jersey Coast
Hurricane Bob at Landfall
Hurricane Betsy at landfall (Florida and or Louisiana)
Hurricane Donna off the Jersey Coast (this would likely be the hardest to find)
Anything of Tropical Storm Claudette (1979)
Radar of Hurricane Camille
Satelitte of Hurricane Carla (if it exists)
It kinda seems strange to me, that I have radar from a Hurricanes in 1946 and 1948, but can't find ANY on that list.

Category 5 wrote:nice Thanks. Too bad images back then didn't give us much of an idea how large the storm was, because Carla apperently was HUGE.
I wonder if they could take an image of Carla and make it look like a goes 12.
This graphic will give you an idea of Carla's size:

That's a very interesting chart. It doesn't say at what point in the path these wind measurements represent. Are they at the peak? It would be more interesting to see a chart for the winds at landfall. I don't think this chart shows winds at landfall. For one thing, I don't think Lili was even at 87kt anymore upon landfall.
Not to be a nitpicker, but Georges was never a major hurricane in the Gulf. The chart also left off some interesting major Gulf hurricanes like Frederic, Eloise and Beulah.

Hurricane Gloria
Hurricane Gloria peaked at 145 mph and 919 mb, making it the second to Opal for hurricane to not hit Category 5.

The chart represents peak size in the Gulf. For Carla, that peak was near landfall. I know Georges wasn't a Cat 3 in the Gulf, but I wanted to compare it to the other storms. I had no wind field data for Frederic, Eloise, or Beulah. Wind field data isn't easy to come by for storms before the 1980s, and even in the 80s. Hilda is missing, too - no data. Same for Celia in 1970 - no data.

The loop shows Opal weakening considerably over the central Gulf prior to moving inland. It appears that a significant amount of cool, dry air was entrained into the center as it moved north of 26N..

Excellent. I've never seen that archive before. The full hurricane Andrew loop is on there and it's the first time I've seen it. Thank you. Another awesome one was hurricane Floyd.
