Two disturbances over Africa

#1 Postby MGC » Sat Jul 07, 2007 8:52 pm

There are a couple of decent looking waves over Africa. One should emerge into the Atlantic in a couple of days with another right behind. Should reach mid Atlantic in a week or so. Perhaps the atmosphere will moisten up a bit and these won't dry up like 96L did. I'm hedging my bets that Chantel will be born out of one of them.....MGC

I guess that's possible, but never, NEVER, track waves before they emerge off the coast. They could (and likely will) dissipate the minute they do. But hey, tropics are quiet, I'll watch em.

Well, it is getting to be that time of the year when they don't poof the second they hit the ocean. Since there isn't much to look at right now over the entire basin I thought I look into the future....its a slow night here at work.....MGC

Hah, yeah. I guess you're right. They don't look that bad for landlocked waves.

although the likely hood of it making or devloping is low .. since it still over land and is even harder to tell what will happen..

it is much higher in latitude and more typical of august and september... so it bares watching

Chantal, you'd better show yourself soon, Missy. The natives are getting restless. :x

Friendly question: Is it possible to cut back on the use of the punctuation a bit? There's no real need for it.

I know we're all bored, but as MGC said sooner or later the waves will come of Africa and survive. Hey, even if they don't do it in the Atlantic they'll make the EPac (like the wave that led to Alvin).
