Island relief drop off point in S. FL and prayer service

#1 Postby wsquared77 » Sun Aug 19, 2007 9:03 am

Just in case any one in the South Florida/Miami area wants to know, our church is a drop off point for relief for Jamaica and other islands. It was actually just announced in Jamaica on the Power 106 radio station!

We're located in the Kendall area of Miami.

Kendall Community Church of God
8795 SW 112 St.
Miami FL 33176

We're asking specifically for non-perishable food, batteries and water. We're not asking as much for other items (like clothing).

Just talked to my husband at church (he works there) and he says that they've thrown out the previsouly decided-upon worship service for today and they are doing a music and prayer vigil for the island at our 11:00am worship service. The vast majority of our church congregation is from Jamaica and all are (obviously) very worried about this storm.

Just thought I'd let everyone know about these two items. Thanks!

That's awesome. I am glad to hear the good work. My prayers are with the people of Jamaica.
