Direct Deposit... Remember It was in ALL THE papers, radio and t.v. for EVERYONE IN THE AFFECTED area to apply! Heck my INSURANCE company even questioned if I had applied or not! Rich, poor and middle class were encouraged to apply and the adjusters would work it out. well when I applied initially they askedfor a checking/savings account as it was faster saffer and some mail areas were still not open so I gave them my checking account so it was a direct deposit and they had my info when the ydont the extra money...so I couldnt refuse anything I just woke up and it was there!

Like rtd2, $2358 just magically appeared in my checking account one day. FEMA did everything by direct deposit after the Red Cross debit card fiasco. When reconciling my FEMA application for the last time, the FEMA dude told me I would not have to pay it back. Most of us in that situation put it in savings just in case, as well.
