Nope, nothing on FrankP.

I'm hitting myself hard for not pushing the issue on the severe weather contacts list. Think I was just shocked when I heard she was a 5 on Sunday morning and by then was just praying everyone got out. There were more important things for them to take care of than posting here. I just wish we'd done it earlier in the season.

GDuck, you can't beat yourself up over it. You have done a fine job and most everyone, at least people who have been here for a bit, know that you all ask for the contact info, just in case. And you did get the notice out in plenty of time...over and over again......All of your guys have done a great job!!!!!

I'm relatively new here (about one year) and am so touched by the closeness of the group, the caring and the genuine warmth I am witnessing.

This is an amazing group of people!
My prayers for those who are suffering due to this tragedy.

^About Sean in New Orleans

Okay, I haven't been around here long to know anyone well, but I ran across this in a Yahoo! Article and it made me wonder if it was him.

This story on this link may be updated, because I think Yahoo! just has one, on-going, Katrina link.

"Sean Jeffries of New Orleans had already been evacuated from one French Quarter hotel when he was ordered out of a second hotel Tuesday because of rising water.

The 37-year-old banker — who admitted to looting some food from a nearby supermarket — said the hotel guests were told they were being taken to a convention center, but from there, they didn't know.

"We're in the middle of a national tragedy," he said as he popped purloined grapes in his mouth. "But I know this city. We will be back. It may take awhile. But we will be back."

That actually does sound like him.

Thank you, that does sound like it might be him--what are the odds that more than one "Sean" would be holing up at hotels in the French Quarter? Pretty slim, I'd think. I hope he made it out OK and will check in with us. I don't know what it was about his messages before the storm but I just got a very uneasy feeling about his plans for riding this thing out.

Duckie, you are suffering a typical reaction of rescue workers. It's actually a mild form of PTS. Because you HAVE been involved in helping, you feel guilty that you didn't do more, or do it better, or sooner, etc.

PLEASE find someone to give you a long, warm hug, and rub your back and tell you to get some rest. KNOW that you didn't cause this storm, could not have known the outcome, and have contributed significantly to helping deal with this disaster.

Hi!

I am in Seagrove, FL just waiting to get word as to whe we can return to go through what might be left. This is too much like a dream right now and all this really hasn't sunk in. I moved to the area in Jume to rebuild my life after my divorce. I was playing outside a lot again and was enjoying my life again. Now I have to start all over, yet again, and probably this time with out anything! I am an artist and may have lost all my art supplies, that was one of my livelyhoods. Anyway, we will return, but if there is nothing left of my friend's house or my apartment we are probably going to move away after doing what we can to help our friends and nieghbors in Pass Christian.

We are grateful that there is all this modern technology out there so that folks are able to move out of harms way. What is sad, that in this day and time there are still folks that are so poor that they have no means of getting to safety. The stories that are coming out of the area move me to tears and my heart goes out to everyone who has lost a friend or relative to Katrina. I am greatful for my friend and his little family that extended a helping hand and invited me along to a safe place. I have help and am truely blessed to have such a friend but my heart sinks for those who where not as fortunate and were left or opted to stay behind.

I thank God that there are many survivors and I thank him that there are means to help those that are stranded on rooftops and where ever else folks road out this storm.

I know that Pass Christian will be a war zone and Long Beach too. I am anxious to get back and see if everyone is alright. I am anxious to see if the two churches that I go to, Holy Trinity and St. Paul's is still standing. I wonder if our new peir is still standing where just Saturday night I was catching speckled trout with my friend is still standing.

Sorry if I placed this in the wrong spot but these are just a few things that have been going through my mind since the news has been broadcasting the devistation.

Physicaly I am in good shape, emotionally(?) That is another story!

Take Care and Be Well. Lynn McCallum from the Pass Christian/Long Beach area

Glad to hear that people are okay. If there is anything I can do...even listen to those who need someone to talk to I am here. My email address and IM is on. I was in the path and have seen the destruction to Fairhope but I am fortunate...I am alive! My heart goes out to everyone! I am praying for those in Mississippi and Lousiana.

Also I am not sure if Mobile has telephone up yet so that might be why a lot of Mobile members are not checking in right now. Dauphin Island, Bayou Batre, and low lying areas were hit hard but so far I have not heard of any fatalities in my area (Fairhope and Mobile). So that is good news! I hope that helps with the Mobile members that are not checking in yet.

Update -

Still no contact with TimNms, MSCoast, MS GulfCoast, and ixolib (whose numbers I do have). I continue to get a recording.

Still no posts from a number of others whose contact information we don't have.
