How to run models?

Sorry to bother you guys, but how can I run models? Are they already run by there owners or can we try for ourselves?

There are models you can run on your own; in fact, the computer models that your local television station shows may be one of these. See the following links:

WRF: Weather Research & Forecasting Model
MM5: MM5 Community Model

Of course, these aren't as powerful as the GFS or ECMWF, but I assume you don't work at NCEP and have a supercomputer handy. I haven't tried these before, but I'm curious to see how this works if you try to set it up.

You can also run CLIPER on your computer as well if you are willing to program the algorithm, but CLIPER is not a sophisticated model.
