Surprisingly I can't find that stat anywhere. The Top 36 deadliest TCs in world history don't have any from the last decade. Nargis was easy to remember from May 2008.

EDIT: Was it Hurricane Maria of 2017 with 3059 deaths? That would be quite something as PR is an American territory.

I believe the dubious honor of the deadliest tropical cyclone from that decade goes to Typhoon Haiyan, with 6,352 confirmed deaths and 1,771 more missing. I'm pretty sure Maria has the second-most deaths, though, but only a little ahead of 2011's TS Washi/Sedong.

I can't believe I forgot about Haiyan, of course :Chit: :double: . Either way there is no list of deadliest just from last decade so knowing top x deadliest would be something to look into. The northern Indian ocean region is doing amazingly well the last while avoiding any major death tolls.
