wx1028......I can tell you a story about ball lightning!! Right before Frances hit the St. Augustine area the weather was very hot with the winds picking up to about 55+, and strangely enough it didn't feel humid, but dry. It was night time, and we had already lost power at different intervals, and it was dark at this point. I looked across the street to my neighbors, and saw what I perceived to be someone taking flashbulb pictures... but the flashes lasted a tad longer than I thought flash photography should, and the flashes we a little bigger..... and about 20 feet in the air. Someone told me that was ball lightning. It only lasted for a few minutes, and when the humidity started kicking along with the even higher winds.... it stopped. So weather freaks.... did I see ball lightning??

that sounds pretty cool. i always wanted to see it myself. but i understand its pretty rare event
