I've googled everywhere, still haven't found one that goes back to last year. Anybody have a good link?

I want to emphasize this is not the observed soundings done at 12Z, 0Z, and sometimes 18Z.

I've been googling a ton on this too. All I could find was what looked like MIGHT be some archived soundings from the RUC at a site related to the "ARM"

http://www.arm.gov/

But I really couldn't make heads nor tails of it.

You probably already know this, but the SPC archives all of their hourly expert products, which I believe are RUC derived. But they don't include soundings. Is there a particualr element you are looking for in the forecast sounding? Or do you need the whole sounding?

One other idea would be to ask around nin the RUC support forum..but you've probably already thought of that?

Best--wish I could help more!

A person in the forum posted a site. It isn't the best, but at least now I know that LI's near the supercell when it hit Newbern on April 2 last year were around -10.

Holy crap!

Two thjoughts for you. I fyou wnat to go below the LI, here's the link to the SPC expert product page. All the really wild stuff is in these hourly archives. Here's the combined cin and li from 21z, for instance:

Another thing, here's a write up on the outbreak for weather classes offered online at Penn State by a very good student in the program. Thought you might enjoy.

Let me know what you think and I'll pass feedback back to him. He's a good guy.

WJS3,

Thanks for the links. I'm not really looking for LI's, it was just an observation. -10 though, yeah, I jumped out of my seat when I saw that!

That's a great writeup, it's going in my favorites! He did a very fantastic job on the project. If you can contact him, could you ask where he got the more local mesoanalysis data? Thanks!

Hi, Jim:

If you mean the close ups of SRH, CAPE, etc, he got those in real time from the SPC expert tool page--

http://www.spc.noaa.gov/exper/mesoanalysis/

Is that what you meant?

I use the mesoanalysis page all the time, but it only has archives for the national sector. So I'm wondering if he just got those images real time or if there's an archive out there for the individual sectors.

Not that he or I know of.

All of the people in the program had to go to the SPC site and use real time imagery for their assignments just for that reason.
