High-latitude question

What is the highest latitude that a major hurricane has ever existed? I know the record for all hurricanes is Hurricane Faith of 1966, which was Cat 2 at like 65°N. Has any storm ever been Cat 3 or higher north of 50°N?

I think it was Hurricane Ellen in 1973, it was a category three until it reached 45N Latitude, but I could be wrong.

I can say with a fair amount of certainty that no truly warm-core hurricane could exist up there, much less a cat 3.

Not a major, no, but apparently, Hope in 78 and Faith in 66 tackled that feat easily, while under major hurricane status, Hope was a TS, Faith was a cat 2.

^Id be willing to bet both were undergoing extratropical transition, or very close to finishing it. 50N is far far north.
Hurricane Alex being a major hurricane at 40 N was stunning
