Look i don't think that EWG is arguing that the ridge will not build at the end of the forecast period, i think he's questioning the position of the ridge. I think he has a very good point. How can anyone say 5 or 6 days out exactly where it will set up.

Do you think this could make landfall around the area Emily did last year (Tamaulipas)?

Possible, still a bit far out, all we can do is watch it

Wobble Alert, chis jumped NW well ahead of his next forecast point.

I saw a WSW wobble earlier, he's just being eratic

give him a breathalizer  8-)

No need for that after he exposed himself in front of everyone. Chasing the women down in Puerto Rico, and playing dead. We know he is drunk.

hahahaha.

He might move too fast away from his convection.

I think Chris has already restrenghtened slightly. He's certainly holding his own out there. All of the convection remains on the SE quad of the storm. I haven't signs of any of that wrapping around the center, but that may change once it races past the shear from the NE it's under right now. Also, doesn't it look like it's picking up a little bit in forward motion?

Question - what is COL? That's a new one for me.

And yes I'm still up - I can't find it in the NWS or TPC Glossary. I quick reply would be much appreciated so I can finally go to bed. Thanks.

I think the COL is the area between the two ULL's. Its starting to out run the tutt to its east...At least I believe.

I dont know if it is just me or what, but if the shear is coming from the NE towards Chris, doesnt it look like his outer clouds are sort of "fending off" the shear?

Here's the link: http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/flt/t1/loop-ir2.html

P.S.- im sort of new, so im not exactly sure what to look for here, so please excuse me if I am wrong :D

It's not going to strengthen until the entire center is covered. As is, it's just staying alive.

Alberto did not have its whole center covered. In fact every little bit helps.

Jschlitz,

Look in the coupling thread towards the end...

AFM explains it.
