Nice work as usual by my local NWS office. NWS Raleigh and NWS Melbourne are my two favorite offices in the Southeast because they really tend to go above and beyond in terms of analyzing significant local events.

We see so many upgrades for hurricanes on this site that I'd like to post a downgrade for Ernesto. I'm now reconsidering how negative the Atlantic has proven and am thinking Ernesto may not have intensified, even if it had stayed offshore on the north coast of Cuba. Similar to Chris. I believe some kind of pre-Nino atmospheric dominated this year causing a disruption in hurricane formation conditions.
