I would go ahead and fire up the plane. All models they ran strengthen this to a tropical storm within 72 hours. And it will be crossing over that infamous loop current.

Always watch storms that survive tough conditions.

The Gulf Stream is full of latent heat.

if it does, then say hello to 4 dollar gas prices.

J/K, but if that does happen, then well I would really think that God has a grudge against New Orleans.

I jsut got off the phone with my brother who is a meteorologist and he says that the convection will most likely die off in the overnight hours and will do this for the next couple of days.... I wouldnt get your hopes up.. Sorry, He supposed to get some new information at 11:00pm so i'll let you know what he sees.

I didn't say I was getting my hopes up, but who knows this storm has been the craziest thing since the Cardinals having TWO 8 game losing streaks, and STILL be up by 2.5 games!

If I were to make a guess as to where center COULD be, It would be just south of the red splatches there in the sat image.

KEEP IN MIND, I HAVEN'T LOOKED AT LOOP, AND THIS IS TOTALLY A BIG GUESS!
