The NHC did say, however, that their forecast is slightly east of their model consensus. We aren't talking several hundred miles when you consider the model consensus.

All I know is that the NHC knows what they are doing, so I put much more faith into what they say over what a few models say.

Those "few" models you are referring to are their babies they in the past have put a lot of weight in their output for predicting storms landfall. By the way slightly "east" of the models consesus were your words. The NHC's official words were to the "right" of the model consensus. I know I'm being picky.

The proper defintion of landfall is the center of the eye - which will be Hollywood barring any crazy turns...

Looking at radar it also appears to have stopped any southward trend and has resumed a W or slightly N of West heading. 275*?

Yup, another jog back to the west or maybe a tad north....or it might just be the eyewall getting itself together. I wish it would just hurry and cross over so we can see what will happen.

The nhc had it at 26.1 N 79.9 W @ 5:00pm

26.0 N 80.0 W @ 6:00pm

Basically west right?

pretty sharp NW jog in the last few frames of radar maybe keeping the worst out of miami now but its such a SMALL system shouldn't have a big problem in florida even it was a little stronger

It almost looks like a strong Cat 2 with it's well defined eye. I can't believe it's only a Cat 1. Holy Crap!

The reason the eye is wobbling could be an intensification wobble right at landfall...
