A northerly movement wouldn't by no means clear Florida until the center passes about 30°N... and
remember, as mentioned, the ridge is expected to build in behind Gaston and the feature south of Bermuda.

Thank you, very nice. I have a question, if anyone knows the answer, I hope it doesn't sound stupid. But, at this point, does anyone know what the lat/ long of Charley and Donna were? Can you tell much by their positions at this point and time and that of Frances?

Noticed lots of jogs north and then west even yesterday...don't watch each frame too much this far out...though closer to land is a totally different story.

Do you think that Frances will weaken before making a landfall? That is if she does make a landfall.

Looks like on the last frame she's finally started re-strengthening.

I was just about to start a post about this. It does look like she is getting stronger. She might make it to a Cat. 4 by tonight.

That sure is impressive. I watch those loops every couple of hours.

I do notice that we have a good northly component here. I'm waiting for the more westward one to kick in :(

Still like a NW movement to me even though one frame it looked like it jogged to the north but other than that it still looks NW to me.

What, the Saints' win was a jog?

Watch it there Mississippi!

You notice all the Saints fans on these boards? Is it because most of the other teams aren't so damn close to the gulf?

I'm just going nuts with all the guessing and crazy predictions.... everyone go to bed and we'll see how thing are tomorrow. Enjoy the victory!

I'm sure New Orleans being BELOW sea level has nothing to do with the high ratio of Saint fans to hurricane watchers....LOL

Nice classic look, sure would be nice if we were arguing with the NHC about them thinking it would be a fish right now :(

I agree.... it is moving northwest... the path has not changed just yet... just a wobble west...

Frances A Monster

I think she will very well be a Cat. 4 at 5 P.M. Look at the images below. Dvorak estimates should most likely be T6.0/6.0 or even T6.5/6.5 when they come out.

That sounds like a really good place to be right now! I'm from Canton, the hills of WV are pretty close. Where in NC are you? My family is origionally from Stecoah NC,Graham County, near Cherokee Village. Now ,theres an idea... I can always go visit family in the Smokies until Frances passes!
