I could very well be wrong, and I apologize in advance if I am, but I checked the latest coordinates and they seemed to coincide with those on the radar map.

18 DEG 07 MIN N
79 DEG 29 MIN W

As for rain bands, I looked at this:
http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/DATA/RT ... -loop.html
and my claim seemed plausible to me.

Will someone please check and tell me whether or not I'm mistaken?

This wx site is good as Ivan approaches, but I'm afraid they need a much heavier duty anemometer!

Aw, heck. This is a Cat 5. Raging drunk is the ONLY way to get through this with your sanity. Raging drunk and in a bank vault.

The GFDL is a worst case scenario. I'll be on the east side and it's probably still going to pack a punch when it gets into Central Alabama

Opal all over again.

AN AIR FORCE RESERVE UNIT HURRICANE HUNTER AIRCRAFT MEASURED A
MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE OF 912 MB...26.93 INCHES. THIS IS THE
