Don't pay attention to line D. Look at flight level winds then take the reduction. Doesn't get you 70 mph.

It might be 70 mph with dvorak estimates to back it up at T3.5/3.5. But as for now the NRL site has it at 45kts.

Max Flight level winds only 59 knots? That works out to around 45 knots at the surface.

Dont want to alarm anyone, but Gaston has been exploding at a rate of 2.5 T numbers per day. I'll let you all to extrapolate that to get what the landfall intensity would be if this trend continues

that would by 5.0 by the end of today, and 7.5 by tomorrow. OMG we might have a cat 5 hurricane here! No but really, I wouldn't be surprised if we eventually ended up with a minimal hurricane. Maybe even low cat 2.
