For me...its usually Cream Cheese and Chili.
2 Packages of Cream Cheese
1 can of Hormel No Bean chili...
add ingredients together in a pan over the stove...Heat and stir. FYI, it will spit! Serve with Tortilla chips...yummy! Best when warm.

Or Snickers Salad.
2 full size Snickers
4 Green Apples
1 tub of Cool Whip.
Cut Snickers and green apples into tiny portions, mix with cool whip...refrigerate. Yummy!!!

LOL Karan!

Now another favorite *horse derve* are green chili and cream cheese wraps.

1 dzn flour tortillas
2 pks cream cheese
2 8 oz cans diced green chilis
2 diced Jalapenos (optional, for those who like it HOT!)

In a med sauce pan, heat cream cheese until soft, stir in green chili and jalapenos, mix well. Spread evenly on tortilla, roll up, slice into 1/2" pieces, arrange them on a platter, serve!

Hey Shannon, ever add cheddar cheese to that chili/cream cheese dip? That is good stuff!
I don't cook except dinner, at one point though I used to make calzones, stopped doing that after the time I forgot to seal it, they opened and cheese went all over the pan! needless to say, it was a mess that took 4 hours to clean! *Note to self, never use tortilla shells without sealing them!*

Ooo Mary, I think I see where you're going with that thought. Maybe we could dedicate a thread. Set a date and time. Do them like once a month. Take turns at someone's "house". And everyone meets there with their special dish and a six pack (ruh roh). It would be like chat if we get a bunch of people posting at once.

What do you think Poppysky? Should we have the first one in lovely Scottsdale? The host gets to take us on a virtual tour of their home and town.

We'd all need a really big limo from the airport. :29:

Isobar - love the way you think!!! I see I've put the right person in charge. Like the monthly idea and a different host each month. Great idea. Steve would make an excellent host to kick it off. Count me in later in the summer, vacation calls in less than 3 weeks. But I'll join in the fun though!

While the first potluck COULD be in beautiful Scottsdale, it is now SUMMER here...like REAL summer.

So instead of a pot luck...it would have to be a
POOL-LUCK! Can only bring things to eat that float!

OR, we could do the first one in the tall pines of the White Mountains...where the old PORCH tales got their start....and then when everyone is freezing, THEN talk about hitting the desert in winter.

GREEN BAY isn't a bad place to visit in the summer either! Heck, we could eat and build a house in just one weekend!

lol Poppy. Yeah we could bring our floating food AND a hammer and nail gun. Party time!! :6:

Good idea about having it up north in the summer months. Although there are plenty of people around who enjoy the winter weather. Just makes it hard for a backyard BBQ, but it w/b fun having a snowball fight.

So, should we volunteer the snowman or pojo for the June potluck? :D

You know...if EVER we tried to get together in real life, many would be traumatized for 6 months before the event!

On here, the expectations seem so simple. At a real Storm2k potluck, the food would have to be edible and we'd have to REALLY be what we REALLY are right here.

We'd work so hard at doing that that we'd not be ourselves.

So....while a REAL one might "someday" come to pass, let's have the cyberparty this month and ponder the bigger picture "just down the road a piece."

How's that for being adventurous?

hehe, I'm game, which is easy to say as I sit here in front of a keyboard in my PJs and slippers. It would be kind of funny if one day we all met in person and were so nervous we couldn't think of anything to say. :shocked!: :23:

Would you like to do the honors of started the thread, Mr. Skyman?

And would we call each other by our screen names or by our real names? Would we all look up and see Azskyman(poppysky)(Steve) walk in - what would you call him?

Just a curious twist to what real-life meeting might bring.

You'd say, "I came all that way for this?"

Just kidding. I think our name tags would have our screen names.

I have only meet one person from the chatroom. That was Moncherie in Baton Rouge LA. Mrticka and I went and meet her. But only before talking to her over the phone for months. Actually a very nice lady - who has become a very dear friend.

Would like to meet more in person but just can't cross that line that I won't meet up to pre-convinced expectations.
