My cats do not ruin my furniture. I have had the indoor cats declawed. I have all leather furntiure and I have them covered with SureFit covers. When company comes, I take them off. Now, dogs have always been harder on my house, that is why our PR mutt stays outside. Cats are extremely clean and do not smell.

That is also why all of the cats that are on my farm live outside and fend for themselves as far as shelter goes. They have a doghouse and a barn to go to as well as sheds, etc... House pets are too much of a pain I agree...

Well you can come down here and grab some... I know last year at one time we had 21 cats! Usually at least a dozen kittens.
My ex MIL would kill me - she has at least six pregnant barn cats the last time I talked to her - our kitten supplies are well taken care of!

We get all our outside cats fixed. We definately don't need any more kittens. What happened to us is a strange cat comes in our yard and leaves a litter. We have not been able to catch Lucy to get her fixed. She is a wild cat. We will have to get a downer for her and drug her and take to vet. She is still inside on the cat porch waiting for John to pick up pill. She has had 3 tailess litters. She will go outside for life then. John cannot get her in the cat carrier without drugging her first. We had her inside with the last three liters raising her kittens, but she accidently went out the door the first two times. This time she is not getting out till she gets fixed.

In the 20 years we had our cat she NEVER damaged anything in the house. She had claws too since she liked to spend time outside (Dual Mode Cat). Every now and then we could tell she was on the couch because there would be the imprint of a cat there and a few hairs...but never any damage whatsoever. That was HER house, she ruled with an iron paw from day one
