Mother gets 40 years for child abuse

Who out there is protecting our children? This is horrible.

Mother gets 40 years for child abuse

CINCINNATI, Ohio (AP) -- A woman who molested at least one of her five children and prompted four of them to have sex with each other has been sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Robin Kraft, 26, had pleaded guilty in June to two charges of rape and four counts of child endangering. Hamilton County Common Pleas Judge David Davis on Friday imposed the maximum sentence, saying Kraft should not be released from prison while she can bear children.

Prosecutors said the children have been psychologically harmed.

"These children were not beaten, there were no cuts or stabs, but the way these kids act now after living with this woman requires prolonged treatment to be normal, if ever," said Assistant Hamilton County Prosecutor Mark Piepmeier.

Prosecutors said Kraft and her husband, Paul Kraft, 32, sexually abused their four sons and one daughter, ages 1 to 6, in 2004.

In March, Paul Kraft received five life sentences on five rape charges and 96 additional years on 12 charges of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor. He is ineligible for parole.

Prosecutors say Paul Kraft encountered an undercover Secret Service agent last March in an Internet chat room called "baby and pre-teen sex."

In an online exchange, Kraft offered to rape his 3-year-old daughter live on the Internet if another person would do the same so Kraft could watch, prosecutors say. The agent contacted Hamilton County sheriff's deputies, who arrested Kraft at home.

The children were placed in foster care. They had limited language skills at the time, but developed enough to tell authorities what happened to them, prosecutors said.

This was a horrible case of child abuse. Our local proscecutor publicly stated it was the worst child abuse case he'd ever heard of/tried, etc. The father actually had or wanted to have sex with his then 3 year old daughter, videotaped and broadcast on the internet. That is how authorities got wind of it - the single rape broadcast across the internet. I know the article above states he offered to do this, but I remember there was mention of a extremely disturbing very graphic video of the rape. If I get a chance to look for past local articles I will (to back up what I remember about this tragic case). When they investigated much further, the parents abused all the children (both parents did descpicable acts) and had sex in front of their kids. Each time I'd read more about this case, I wanted to sob. Just sob. These poor children have never had a normal life and you fear for their future. To start out this way, day in day out, my God - how can they ever be taught what normal is. I pray they are in very good hands.

Both parents are going to be spending years in prison too, and justifiable so.

And knowing how the general prison population is when it comes to child abusers/molesters this couple probably hasn't a prayer. :grrr: Scum of the earth!!

You know Eric, as Christians we're supposed to let God judge others, but in cases like this, I honestly think the treatment both parents will receive in prison is the least that can happen for what they did to their children. No amount of abuse towards the parents will ever be enough for what they put their kids through. May God forgive me if I'm not supposed to feel this way. Some might say that the parents themselves must have been abused as children. But somewhere along the line, they kept having more kids, with more opportunities to abuse. As you can tell by my responses, this sentencing article has stirred all the sad feelings I had about these children. This story has been in the news for a while. Very, very sad child abuse case.

Mary,

I hope you didn't misread my post, Wxbuddy. I agree with you...that's why I said that they haven't a prayer.

Eric - oh I did agree with you and added my own comments too. No I didn't misread you. I try my best not to judge others but boy in this case, you know they'll receive just punishment in prison. And I don't feel a bit sorry for them either.

They should do this with every child molester. No death penalty. Just put them in general population and make them look over their shoulder every day of their life.

People who commit crimes against children are the lowest form of life both on the street and in prison.
