Why is it mostly just Beatles, classic rock, and current emo stuff? Guess I'm just an old-fashioned 80's pop kind of person (with a little country thrown in), but don't artists from some other genres qualify as "best" also?
I'd have to offer, in no particular order:
Garth Brooks -- The Chase and Ropin' The Wind
Amy Grant -- Straight Ahead (no doubt, the best Christian artist album ever)
Olivia Newton-John's Greatest Hits Vol. 2
Billy Joel's 52nd Street, Turnstiles, Piano Man, and Kohuept
Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to Footloose (it's as 80's as you get and let's face it -- ya gotta dance sometimes!)
OMPS to Ferris Bueller's Day Off
OMPS to Purple Rain (NOT one of my favorites, but didn't almost every song top the charts?)
Michael Jackson - Thriller (totally agree with harshrealm's choice above, even if MJ has truly gone downhill, you can't deny the greatness of the album)
The Carpenters - Christmas Portrait
Elvis - 30 Number 1 Hits
U2 - Achtung Baby
Beatles - SPLHCB (my fave of all theirs)
Bruce Springsteen - Born To Run
Stevie Wonder - Songs In The Key Of Life
Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
Tapestry - Carole King
and a real oldie -- Frank Sinatra - Songs for Swingin' Lovers
Best albums ever - What are your favorites?

lol,I haven't seen any 'emo' bands mentioned

Except Green Day which is actually Pop Punk with eye liner and a bad attempt at emo ;p
