Teen sorry for video of children smoking pot
By DEBRA DENNIS / The Dallas Morning News and JIM DOUGLAS / WFAA ABC 8
Demetris McCoy says he's sorry for the firestorm he caused after his two young nephews were videotaped as they smoked marijuana, but he says he doesn't believe he is the first to expose the boys to the illegal drug.
The Watauga 17-year-old is in the Tarrant County Jail, charged with injury to a child after police released a video of a 2-year-old and a 5-year-old boy doing drugs.
But even as he apologized in a jailhouse interview with WFAA-TV on Monday, Mr. McCoy talked about how his nephews didn't get high while smoking the marijuana. He predicted the youngsters would have eventually smoked the drug anyway.

Police shocked by video of pot-smoking toddlers
By Ed Stoddard
DALLAS (Reuters) - Texas police said on Monday they were shocked by the video recording of a pair of toddlers aged two and five being encouraged to smoke marijuana by their uncle and a friend of his.
Police discovered the video last month as they searched a house in the Texas town of Watauga for stolen goods. Local television station aired the video during the weekend.
"Our investigators are shocked. Many if not all of them are parents themselves and they cannot believe that someone would do this to a child," said Bruce Ure, the director of Watauga's department of public safety.

And you know the sad part, on the earlier post, the suspect said it wasn't that much of a big deal.

Oh yeah... I agree. But he is sorry all right... if you know what I mean. Like you said, he is probably more sorry that they found out about it. This is just mind boggling- anyone that can do anything like this and be pleased with themselves and think its amusing.
Punish them!
Punish them!

Custody hearing set for pot-smoking tots
WFAA ABC 8 Staff Writers
A hearing has been scheduled for April 26 to determine who should have custody of two boys, ages 2 and 5, who were shown in video footage smoking marijuana provided by their uncle, officials said. The boys are in foster care until the court decides where they should be placed.
A spokeswoman for Child Protective Services said she could not comment because of a gag order from the judge in the case. The video, which received extensive national coverage, showed the uncle, Demetris McCoy, teaching the boys how to smoke pot.
