I use YouTube a lot now but when they changed it to that beta 3-4 weeks ago I thought it was horrible and useless. I was always worried they would change it like that and of course they spring this on the YT community without warning or asking. It was just perfect the way it was and of course these sites like to screw around and change things just for the heck of it which I hate. There is
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING good about the new change at all, and for those who somehow do like it (why I can't fathom in the least) name
2 good reasons why it's better. The first change was to take out the rating system and replace it with a "thumps up, thumps down" system which is pointless because not only is that too vague to consider how good a certain video is (popularity contest), but it's dumbing things down which in general I loathe. The next thing is for the actual pages that display the videos, the setup is completely changed around making it hard to find what you want plus you have to click to show information that should be always visible. It's ugly, glitchy, options may have been removed that were important to a lot of users, videos are harder to upload (or there are more problems associated with doing so), the related videos list is now distorting the length of the page which isn't necessary (why get rid of the scroll bar in the box? That was better!

), the features have no colours so it's more difficult to separate what is what, the comments area that the bottom is arranged poorly and the old layout of that was tons better, you can't see the statistics and the video description at the same time, and more. I can barely use it now but a week after the first change, they reverted it back for my area (since it seemed to affect different users worldwide at different times) and I thought the "nightmare" was over but cautious since other users kept yelling about it. Weeks later Firefox showed the page layout back to the new one to my displeasure but IE still displayed it like the old one. I thought it had to do with either the version or cookie settings so I hoped that it was possible to keep the settings so that it would always display it in the old format. Then just yesterday I watched something and to my horror it was back to the new layout for all my browsers now!

.
97% of YT users hate this change and with such a tide of complaints the staff and personnel need to listen and change it back to the way it was or at the very least make it an option to change the layout for registered users. Along with that, make the old layout a default for all the non-registered users so that new users and causal users aren't turned away (which they certainly will be after this disaster of a change). I believe this will ruin YT which I consider one of the top websites on the Internet among some others. Some may see it as a small issue but for people who use it all the time and consider it a significant part of the web, it's a huge deal.
One other question I had about YT right now is does anyone else notice the search results number different when searching? I would enter in the word "tornado" and the number back last time I checked that would come up was around 70,000 or so. Now the number is 8,500! WTH? I'm I missing something here?
There is the end of that rant, man does this ever piss me off! If anyone knows of a way to make the page display the old way with a trick or modification then please post it since the servers from Google still have the information to display it that way (that I know of).
