MAN..talk about storm2K withdrawls :o Went to turn on the 'puter this a.m., as soon as I hit connect to the internet.....BLAM, ZAP, ZING......I kept getting the message *This program has preformed an illegal operation*, ya know the one "LOL!" Then it fragmented BIG TIME, then Windows went into *safe mode* thought "OH *HIT.....I've picked up a virus of sorts. WELLLLL, it was a bad memory chip "WHEW!" AND the modem was fried last night during a boomer, I've got a surge protector for the power and modem, last nights boomer was CRAZY man, CRAAAAAZY!

I've NEVER had to use one before until this year, the warrenty on the differential on the Dodge was "2 DAYS" out of warrenty when the stupid thing went out AGAIN........I've NEVER had THIS kinda good luck before, the whole repair was done in 2 hours and NO out of pocket expense to ME

I'm glad that it turned out ok, Dennis. I don't know which is worse - computers or cars. (I was going to add women to that list, but good sense prevailed.)

Oh, Dennis - if mine gets fried - I'm out some
$$$! I've got a surge protecter, but, I can just
envision lightning running in through the phone
line to the pc tower, while I am at work!

Glad your repair happened in a speedy fashion!

I'm glad to see you back online! :) I get those types of errors all the time, but so far it's only taken an old "Boot Up" to fix the problem...

"ROFLMAO @ ED!" GOOD SAVE buddy.........you could have been in DEEEEEEP sheep dip!

Indeed......that WAS fast, that's one thing I love about wmonline, their quick, very curitous AND in most cases, very inexpensive.......that's one thing about the mountain, I don't know if there are more real estate offices, antqiue stores, ski shops OR computer repair shops!

On another note.....they didn't have the same size chip in stock (128 mb) the tech said he upgraded to a 280 mb at no charge and used a faster modem too. When he asked if that was O'TAY using a larger memory chip, I said NO.......I'll wait until you order the same size "NOT!"

Dennis - I am glad to hear you got your computer fixed up quickly and inexpensively. And like you, I would be soooooooo upset at having a larger memory chip and a faster modem (NOT)! 8-)

Welcome back, Dennis. :D It seemed like you "were just away for the day," not having access to the internet/Storm2K.

I am also glad you weren't offline for too long.
