My mom and dad are related (family tradition).

The people from my province (Shandong) is generally taller than those from all the other coastal provinces of China. It is believed by some scholars that "Shandongers" have Phoenician parentage.
I have a question for you. Were your parents dialects different? I worked with a guy who married a woman, both from mainland China, and their parents had trouble communicating because their dialects were so different. Is this a common problem in mainland China?
