FORT WORTH, Texas - A man was critically wounded Sunday morning after being shot several times by police officers after a multiple-city chase that ended with a standoff in north Fort Worth, police said.
The suspect, whose name was not released, led officers on an hour-long, high-speed chase that began in Burleson about 7 a.m., said Sgt. Chris Havens, a Burleson Police Department spokesman.
A Burleson patrol officer approached the man after watching him slowly drive a maroon Chevrolet pickup through a residential area near the intersection of Suzanne Terrace and Wilshire Boulevard.
Havens said the officer believed that the man was trying to break into cars. The driver fled when the officer approached.

I am glad this safely came to an end with no innocent civilians hurt.
