Son of Connecticut governor arrested for marijuana possession

NEWINGTON, Conn. (AP) — Gov. John G. Rowland's 18-year-old stepson was arrested on charges of marijuana possession after officers broke up a party at a friend's home.

Ryan Largay was charged with possession of less than 4 ounces of marijuana and interfering with police. His friend, 17-year-old Christopher Bosco, was charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.

The two were taken into custody Monday. They were released on bail.

Largay is the son of Rowland's wife, Patricia Rowland, from a previous marriage. Largay and his 16-year-old brother live at the governor's mansion. Rowland's three children from a previous marriage also spend time there.

"It's a very difficult time," the governor said Thursday. "If anybody has teenagers, you know that you cross your fingers, you hold on tight and get through those years."

Ms. Rowland said she and her husband "are loving, devoted parents and we will do the best we can to get them on the right track."

"It's doubly difficult when they have to make their mistakes in front of the world," she told WTIC-AM.

Her children's book, "Marvelous Max the Mansion Mouse" -- which she said is based on her sons' experiences in the governor's mansion -- was released Wednesday.

Bosco's mother, Darlene Kupinski, said her son was at the wrong place at the wrong time. "He's under a bad influence -- all those kids with no goals," she told The Hartford Courant.

Of course Ms Bosco, those other children MADE your son have herion and druggie supplies. It does sound as if her son has goals. None of them good
