Horror film comes to life

#1 Postby TexasStooge » Fri Oct 17, 2003 8:03 am

RANDOLPH, Mass. — Violence spilled off the big screen and into the theater during a recent horror movie screening.

While the zombie flick "House of the Dead" is not a slasher film, some knifeplay reportedly broke out in the seats on Sunday when one man allegedly stabbed another man in the foot in a movie etiquette meltdown.

The victim, William Dunn, 37, was not harmed, according to the Randolph Police Department. The only injury was to his sneaker.

Dunn and his family were sitting in the row behind Jose Pujols, 27, and his friends, according to a police report. The problems began when Pujols reportedly asked Dunn's daughter to remove her feet from the back of his seat. She complied, according to police.

Then Pujols' cellphone started to ring. Dunn asked him to shut it off, but Pujols let it ring, according to the report.

Police say the fracas began when Dunn intentionally put his feet on the back of Pujols' seat and refused to remove them when asked. Pujols took out a long-blade knife and stabbed Dunn in the foot, police said.

Pujols was hauled out of the theater and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and marijuana possession. He pleaded not guilty in Quincy district court.

See what happens when you don't turn off your cell phone in a movie theater?

I think some people have a little too much pent-up anger.

That's why I rarely ever go to movies anymore....just too many inconsiderate people who seem to delight in ruining the movie for everyone else.

Yikes! Talk about watching a movie and having it basically become reality right inside a movie theatre. :o

I lived in Randolph, Massachusetts from birth to 19 months old in the late 1970's. I have an aunt and uncle (my mother's sister) have lived in Randolph since the early 1950's.

This happened at the "Showcase Cinemas" on Route 139.

Bridgewater, Massachusetts, where I lived from 19 months old to six weeks before I turned 23, is about twenty minutes south.
