I've had many, many wonderful prayers offered on my behalf as a child....and I credit those folks praying and God for answering them as the reason I'm alive today![]()
Asthma is a really serious condition. My mom has it, and scared us all a few years ago when she had a tough time breathing. She was also affected by allergies at the time, and couldn't even be in the same room as someone wearing perfume. Luckily, things are better now, but it is definitely something that God helped her to overcome.

Thanks Josh!
Chris, you are exactly right....I was hospitalized twice because of asthma (age 3 and 7); and it was the reason for my last trip to the ER in 1978. I seemed outgrow it after reaching my late teens, but I've noticed my asthma becoming worse in recent years....and am not sure whether it's because of my growing older (42), the air pollution around metro Atlanta...or a combination of the two.

Thanks Mary....it does make me feel better. Here's some more good news....Jake's uncle Andy (sis's brother-in-law) is a doctor there in Oregon. He will be at the childrens hospital when the surgery is performed; and the pediatric surgeon is a good friend and former classmate of Andy's from medical school.

Thanks Lindaloo...I'm so very thankful Andy is driving up from southern Oregon to be with little Jake (why sis told me to stay here and take care of grandma...because they would be okay).
I'm trying my best to convince Becky to join Storm2K (her photo is already in the photo gallery, so the "picture nazi" won't get her
She isn't really a weather enthusiast...but being a southern girl (plus having a storm nut like me as a brother), knows virtually everything about thunderstorms, hurricanes, and tornadoes

Perry,
I think that the pollution is only getting worse in Atlanta! We have so many people that live here now, and they are only adding more cars and exhaust to the growing problem.
Anyway, I am glad you got some good news about Jake's uncle and friend being present during the surgery. Also, like Mary pointed out earlier, his healing process will be much quicker than an adult. That is one thing I remember about my surgery that was a great benefit!
