NOAA Debuts First Satellite Imagery from GOES-19

#1 Postby WaveBreaking » Thu Sep 19, 2024 7:54 am

GOES-19 is set to become GOES-East in April 2025 and will replace GOES-16. The preliminary images in the YouTube video are beautiful as always. I can’t wait to see what this satellite will show us, and I also hope that we can at least have some sort of way to access the data before it becomes GOES-East.

Of course, we can’t forget about how GOES-16 has been essential for monitoring so many memorable hurricanes, winter storms, severe weather events, and wildfires. It will be missed.
