What we have to do is is live our lives the most normal possible but be vigilant for anything suspisious that you may see and report it to the authorities.

Linda...you beat me to it. 9/11 was definately not out of the blue, but it certainly wasn't widely publicized. The terrorists, admittedly, are smart people. They're not going to attack if the entire nation is expecting an attack. It's a very touchy situation for me. On one hand, I'm tired of all these false threats. On the other hand, if the government doesn't warn the public, it will be a perfect opportunity for another attack.

After reading this thread and making my comments, I went outside to have a cigarette. Just outside of Atlantic City is the Air National Guard, where Marty's son, JR, is a part-time National Guardsman. NORAD is located there, so needless to say, there was alot of activity ( i.e. fighter planes) flying in and out of there on 9/11.

On occassion I'll hear/see them in the sky - you can't miss the roar. Well, after I read this thread, and went outside, I heard a jet overhead. When I left the office, there was another one flying overhead, I think going back to the base. I don't know if this is related to what was posted here, but I did get alittle nervous. Whenever I hear them, I always wonder if there was some type of report or chatter that they're following up on. I know that they do drills and such, but it was too coincidental for me.

Don't worry about it...they were probably just practicing and trying to get some flight time logged before Christmas. I too live near a military base (Fort Drum) and seeing those planes in the air actually makes me feel safer.
