A fact means you can prove it. How can you prove that it was haunted?

roarusdog, stormy may have seen the ghost. Therefore, stormy is stating fact because it was seen by one's own eyes.

I too have seen a ghost on many occasions but it is hard to prove it to you. I can explain it all to you but without physical evidence it's just my word and a good story to someone.

Roardog, this is a tedious and very difficult subject to prove or disprove since there's very little evidence to go on. I, myself, have experienced/witnessed the paranormal in action ... whether it be seeing a ghost (and I've seen several), unexplainable noises as a friends house that I spent the night with when I was 12. (later discovered an entity in the attic in a ball and chain wrapped around his leg which was the source of the intermittent banging heard that night.), and including a field trip from school in downtown Charleston at a graveyard at noon time (the project was to do grave rubbings on paper). In the presence of a Charleston, SC, tour guide, 25 students, AND the teacher, we watched a stone dungeon door (which would physically take 2 people to move) open on its own very slowly ... in which, myself, and many of the students felt chills witnessing such an event.

Hauntings are VERY WELL documented ...

One such site has cases listed by state...although, some are suspect, many of the stories published there are IMO, quite true.

EDITED: ---> site --> http://www.theshadowlands.net/places/index2.htm

and one of the stories from Charleston ... this is quite scary since I've been to that graveyard site during the day, and it gave me an unnerving feeling being there...

Charleston - St. Philips Graveyard - The ghost of Sue Howard who's baby died still haunts the place, and is said to frequently attack women who are pregnant or have had miscarriages. There is also proof of her existence by a photograph taken by a photographer in the 80's doing a piece on Charleston's graveyards.

And here's that picture taken by an amateur photographer in 1987 (and the negative image edited by myself.)

ImageImage

This photo was taken in the graveyard of St. Philip's in 1987 by a local amateur photographer. He was literally in the perfect place at the perfect time for capturing this unique paranormal image. The photo was taken on the anniversary of the death of the child of the woman buried beneath the headstone in the picture. Our tour explains the exact circumstances which caused this incredibly sad ghost story to unravel. Our guides also explore some of the tragic "coincidences" which have occurred to those who have handled the negative since the photo was taken on that summer night thirteen years ago.

That is SO COOL SF!! Is that the woman bowing her head over the grave?

I can't wait to check out the website. Thanks for posting it!

Postscript;

My father and his girlfriend Anne have burial plots here in Colorado;

Silver Cliff - Silver Cliff Cemetery - Well documented Ghost lights. The ghost light of this old cemetery are well know in the region. The town has went as far to shutting off all the lights in the town because critics stated that the ghost light were reflections of the street lights. The town turned off all the lights and still the light danced around the tombstones. The lights were first noticed by a group of weary partygoers coming back by wagon from the town of Rosita. They were questionable witness to say the least. But, after their report other people began to notice lights in the graveyard. Thinking it was some local kids having fun, the local men decided to hide at night and catch the vandals. Well hidden, they waited past dark, and then the lights came. The men jumped out from their hiding place and saw the lights with no one around. They went home rather spooked. The lights are still seen today. :eek:

I've visited this cemetery and knew about it's history. It faces the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. Anne and I actually like to go and visit the old cemeteries for the history.
