Check out this link. You can see "near" real time all the flights going into your local airport.
St. Pete/Clearwater(PIE)

It's delayed 10 minutes for security, but it's still pretty cool to watch!

Click on the planes and it gives you altitude etc...

That is pretty cool Chad. I wached LAX a while. Our local commuter airport gets like 3 flights a day!

prob goes off of the planes transponders then sent through a server that tracks the flights.. there are MUCH more accurate programs used for this but these sites are fun to watch :) Thanks for thelinks Chad I think I am going to fire up my FS2000 and flay for a few... I need to keep my flight status even though I have not been able to fly since 1997 :( That is a RICH mans hobbie LOL but I can say that I have done it.
