What was your most memorable news story of 2003?

#1 Postby azsnowman » Tue Dec 30, 2003 11:47 am

I was watching the news last night, they did a short story of all the top stories of 2003, I would have to say the most memorable story for me was the Explosion of the Space Shuttle Columbia on re entry over Az., New Mexico and Texas!

Besides all the GOOD news on the war front, the most memorable (and still unsolved) story for me has to be the disappearance and whereabouts of Dru Sjodin.

There were so many stories. With the war, I almost forgot about the Columbia tragedy.

My other two would be the announcement that we were invading Iraq and then that we captured Saddam Hussein.

I actually did a thread about this a few weeks ago when I was looking to hear what opinions about the best stories of the year.

My top 3 are probably
{not in any particular order}

The Columbia Tragedy, Jessica Lynch, and the Blackout..

If you want to see my top 10 list of in my opinion the top 10 stories of the year..

c) PFC Jessica Lynch, with all permutations thereof.

Definitely a few weeks ago when Saddam was caught. However, the COlumbia tragedy on Feb. 1 is a close second.

That's what I thought, I went back 3 pages and couldn't find it, thought, "Well, maybe I just *thought* there was!"

Another big story, the Southern Calif Wildfires.......shades of things to come for us this coming fire season I'm afraid
