No, seriously, I know they have to stop the spread of the bird flu. But did they have to take a picture of a cute baby duck before they killed him???? :(

It's one of the most-emailed photos in Yahoo news.

Better than a bunch of sick chinese people that pass the disease onto us like SARS. Already two birds in Delaware found with the disease. You must know though that they only test small amounts of birds. If one has it in a "flock" then i assume all get the axe. Sad :( But true.

Well, I find that sad too. It's enough to make a person a full fledged vegetarian I tell ya! I'm am so close to that. My daughter has become one so we're buying tofu and eating more fruits/vegetables anyway. But my diet is so wacky from my past colon surgery, that turkey and chicken really are two foods/meats that help me. I keep using that for an excuse. I should just try being a vegetarian for a week and see if I do okay w/o turkey/chicken. I no longer buy Tyson chicken though. Heard their chicken factories, that's what I call them, are awful, terrible places. Their livestock have no life whatsoever before they're slaughtered. They don't even see sunlight I've heard too. Now that's sad. The whole way livestock - chicken/beef/pork - is raised only to be slaughtered is sad. The whole thing makes me tear up, and I'm sure you're right there with me Linda.

The bird should have "ducked" out. Sorry...complete insensitivity.
