Indeed this "IS" a HUGE movement Vance! Could this be the outpouring of Gods Love, Mercy and Grace foretold in the prophecy of the Final Days?

I saw the movie today. Not being a christian...i was surprised by the amount of violence in the movie. I don't how to really rate the movie. It was nothing like i've seen before. This statement is neither good or bad.

I must add though that people brought their infant children in the theater and it cried and moaned the whole time. If this wasn't a movie about jesus i think people would have probably yelled at the father a little more than they did. I must also add that i have never seen such a quieter audience in my life. When we walked out of the theater at midnight there wasn't a peep out of anyone. I don't know what that meant. What do y'all think?

Well.....here's my opinion for what it's worth. People didn't realize just how bad Jesus suffered and He did this "ALL" for us, so that we may have ever lasting life.

I heard a sermon on the radio before this movie became popular, the pastor was talking about the cruxifiction and how Jesus died. He didn't die from His wounds, He died from shock, the worst, the most painful death there is......and it was ALL for us!

I was reading about the historic realities of the crucifixion versus the artistic portrayals -- for example, the wrists were nailed instead of the hands, because nails in the hands would not hold the weight of the body on the cross. Also, the condemned carried the patibulum, or crossbar which weighed a lot on its own, on their shoulders and not the entire cross. Instead, the stipes, or post, of the cross was already in the ground and the person to be crucified was lifted up, while bound to the patibulum which had a hole cut out at the middle, and lowered down onto the stipes.

Wrist...hands...carrying half the cross...carrying the whole thing. Doesn't matter to me which it was. Either way, He endured excruciating pain and suffering.

Here's a site that describes in detail, from a medical point of view:
